2020

01/01/2020

The arrival of something new and long hoped for

A year for the visionaries

Full of promises and many unknowns

“Cheers!” Let’s raise our glasses and make a toast

Hip hip hurray! Hip hip hurry!

Let’s bow our heads and mourn lost souls

Those who passed in the year's first second

Those unaware that this is their death year

Are you certain that you will see the year’s end?

The start of a new year

Another reminder that we are subject to time

That whatever we do or don’t, it remains of the essence

Breathe in. Breathe out. Remember what it feels like

The countdown to your life’s end continues.

The buzzer could sound any moment from now.

Like 2019 just passed, your end will come too

But now I ask, what does 2020 have in store for you?

No, no. I’m not obsessed with mortality

I’m rather very conscious of our reality

What are the important decisions to be made today?

The matters of eternal consequences as time flies away?

What choice do you have that the dead don’t?

What stale relationships need mending?

Are you still ignoring Jesus Christ knocking at your door?

Yes! Yes, you! You’re the one He’s looking for!

Move with foresight and not hindsight

Take your decisions in light of eternity

What you’re seeking and unexpectant of lays ahead

But You only know as much as this moment

Oh, can’t you see that you are the villain!

Why do you fight against your salvation?

Why do you pride yourself in a future you cannot physically bring into fruition?

How far will you swing on the pendulum?

Return to your Creator now so that He heal your blindness

May this be the year you have your sight restored

To have your hands peeled from covering your eyes

To see the existence of God and His love for you.

To understand God's hatred for the falseness of limited human wisdom, pretense, and sin

To see clearly how He has made a way for you!

To be your very light and perfect vision through Jesus Christ

Here's to a year of many unknowns

In which I celebrate the certainty and truth of Jesus Christ

Here's to 2020.

Cheers.
