Culture

My experience with culture, especially at a secular liberal arts college has opened my eyes to the problematic veil that drapes over apparent issues. I could point to the PC lens via which many people view these topics but that would not address the root cause. I'm not sure how Western culture arrived here or why it bothers to push this insane idealogy abroad as well. It is concerning since much of everything now is driven by sentimentalism instead of the gospel truth. Regardless of your views, one cannot disregard the bias against what is considered “traditional” or “conservative” speech and thoughts. Espousing these views will check me into a particular political box by many “progressives.” Truth is, I care less for political parties and blind loyalty and care most about the truth of God’s word in governing all aspects of life for all people.
Campuses as such, actually do the opposite of what they claim, and while I do not care to wave a protest sign as a reminder of my rights to free speech, I do care to address the extent to which speech and thoughts are violated in these settings. One would not be able to escape the slew of remarks when they voice disagreement with certain sentimentalities. I’m more concerned for all to be governed by God's objective truth than relativity. Society has swung far on the pendulum and needs to return to the center of God’s word for calibration and resetting. While I cannot say that at one point all of society was subject to God’s word or that “it was better then,” I can certainly say, “it is no better now.” As I stated earlier, these issues that are often politicized and assessed from a politically correct viewpoint are less of that and have more to do with the problem of sin and humanity’s need for redemption. Many have embraced the lies and falsities of this world, and unfortunately do not know any other way, and/or fail to acknowledge THE ONLY WAY (Jesus Christ btw, if you didn’t know).
I can not tackle cultural/societal issues without discussing sin and the enemy’s influence on culture, or without discussing Jesus Christ and the truly spiritual, cultural, and physical liberty He brings to all who believe in Him for their righteousness and obey Him. There’s a lot I have desired to say in the past. There’s a lot I desire to say. There’s a lot I will say. At whatever expense, the truth of God’s word will not be silenced. And however derogative the labels come, I take them in good faith and as descriptors of someone who speaks the truth without wavering. If it must be so, then so be it! :)
