Our world

We live in a perverted and twisted world, rife with hypersexualization and the idol of self, among other issues. Where the words inclusivity and "wokeness" are only an illusion in an ever edgy cutoff culture. We are ready to embrace people as quickly as we are to be closed off to them. Yes! We are all prone to error, and I will be the first to admit mine. Now, I'm NOT talking about sin and breaking God's law--we are actually to be perfected in that. However, I will not act like I work to remediate it within my perfection (if such a thing even exists…? It doesn't!). Rather, I work to remediate my errors knowing there is a perfect order existing outside of my idea of self: existing in Christ. It is His standard I must adhere to and obey. Therefore my efforts are not to prove how good I am or how good I can be but to be a reflection of Christ, conformed to Him in love and perfection. Now, don't leave just yet because I mentioned Christ! There's more to learn about the human condition and its remedy.

Today, we are lacking in true wisdom and underestimate the power and reality of forgiveness. We exist in a world where we protest the establishments of walls but are entirely comfortable setting up boundaries with those we deem undeserving -- in the name of self-awareness. If we were truly self-aware, we would notice that we are not so different from the very things and people we cut away. Chopping and trimming here and there in attempts to present a perfection that is all too false. We all have our reasons I guess. I can see how it is far more convenient to trade in conversation and learning for detachment and criticism.

We exist in a world where "do you, boo!" has bred mountains of excuses, faithlessness, rashness, slander, and has ceased the existence of true and pure connections. You can argue with me on this but we are never to act as our true selves. The true self is self-seeking, drunk with power, and the need for recognition. At all costs, it is bound to hurt anything and anyone in its path--even itself.

We exist in a world where "what can I do for you" has become "what can I do you for," how many likes one can get, how many friends one has, how can one lift self above everything--above others. A world where love, or what it is claimed to be, is shown only in words and never in action. A world where humanity has been reduced to sex, lust, money, fame, violence, and all forms of lewdness. A world where the truth is censored and filtered and fantasy remain the shifting-sand chosen by the majority for a foundation.

However, it is all too naive of me to be surprised by this for there is truly nothing new under the sun. Yet, the longer under the sun, the worst our problems become. Humanity has fought for years to give life meaning, outside of its true meaning. We are desperately seeking fulfillment in things outside of God when it is a relationship with God (the greatest love of all) that brings us the utmost joy!

But there is always hope! God is near to all those who will seek him. He is ready for those who realize that there is nothing else and nothing left to attain in this world. If we are truly seeking answers, then we must pursue God through Christ to attain the answers and meaning. And hear this: it does not matter your culture, race, sexuality, nationality, or religion. If you seek God through Christ, you are guaranteed to find him, and with him everything else. That is the truth. The unpopular truth about truth is that it need not be liked or popular to be true. It is, in itself, verified. It remains true no matter how anyone feels about it.
