AT CREATION
We cannot mention woman without mentioning man, and we cannot mention mankind without mentioning the fulfillment of and precursor to all things--Christ. It is necessary to establish the foundation and reason for the creation of man and woman, and this reason precedes creation. God created mankind for Himself to be in a relationship with. He modeled the creation of man and woman, and thus their relationship to be a figure and representation of His relationship with His people. That collectively God's people are the bride of Christ and wife. The man was created to reflect God's role as a protector, provider, and head of the Church, and the woman was created to reflect the helpfulness, nurture, submission, and body of Christ. The head and body together make one unit which is the person. Thus, the head of the body is Christ and the body of the head is the Church. This will not change. So, as conferred to humans, these roles do not change because they are a reflection of that which is eternal and true and must therefore be consistent.
The woman was created for man and not man for woman. This is not a matter of offense. I am not saying that woman was created as a tool for the man, or to be used as per man's desire in His exercise of authority. No, first of all, man must only display Godly authority and must treat woman, the way Christ treats the church -- loved her and gave Himself up for her. The woman was created for man in response to a need. Man needed woman and was not even aware of the depth of that need. And I must clarify that one must not get carried away to interpret that need in a twisted way to exalt woman over man either. God knew that need in Adam and created woman from Adam. Because the woman came from man, bone of his bone and flesh of his flesh, she is man. She is Adam. Thus, the two are one because they are from one. Mankind is not an offensive or sexist word but rather an accurate description. Men and women are mankind. The two are one and yet distinct but one nonetheless. Woman is man but she is not a man. They are one and not the same. Do we see how God uses all these examples to show us how He really is the fulfillment of all things and that in Him all things consist?
Eve was formed from Adam's rib (which possibly regrew in its place). She was taken from his side and was made a companion and helper to him. Helper is not a subservient or subpar role. God's Holy Spirit is described as our helper, and we know without His Spirit we do not belong to Him, seeing that He is our seal unto redemption. A helper is not one who is dispensable and servant to the "star of the show." Rather, a helper is one whose services are needed and without which there is no progress or completion. Every role is of importance. Adam was to love Eve and care for her diligently. He was to teach her, provide unto her and love her by his life. Eve was to honor him, help and nurture Him and that which the Lord had given the man. Because they are one, anything done against the other was done against self. Thus, "in the same way, husbands ought to love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself. " - Eph 5:28.
Adam named His wife Eve meaning the mother of all living things. She was entrusted to Him and He had authority over her. In the same way, all are subject to authority. Adam was also accountable and subject to God. Eve was accountable and subject to God and Adam. Their children would be subject to God, Adam, and Eve. And that is the family unit.
Woman came from man and man comes from woman and all things come from God.
We cannot do without the other but must honor each other in the ways God created us and expects us to. Without man, there would be no woman. Without woman, mankind would not continue. Without God, neither would exist. We must obey God first and foremost, and that is love. Love does not rejoice in sin and iniquity but rejoices in the truth.
God called good His creation because it was then without sin. Anything contrary to God's good is a perversion and twisting of God's truth which is evil. God does not honor any marriage union that is not one man and one woman. It is not merely intolerance for human preference but rather it is necessary to uphold what is true, pure and unadulterated. God will not change His statutes for anyone because that would mean changing His character and essence of His being and existence. And God does not change else He would not be God. This is why even in the oneness of man and woman, Adam and Eve, each received individual consequences for their disobedience. Every individual, whether man or woman is accountable to God. For indeed, there are no double standards with God.
